Tampere Region is located ca. 170 kilometres north-west from the Finnish capital, Helsinki. Tampere Central Region is the second largest centre in Finland and Tampere is the biggest inland city in the Nordic countries. The total area of the Tampere region is ca. 14,300 km2.
International flight connections
Business travellers travelling to and from the Tampere Region are served by the local airport situated in Pirkkala. The airport has daily several direct flights to Helsinki as well as international flights to and from Stockholm, Copenhagen, London, Liverpool, Frankfurt, Bremen, Dublin, and Riga. There are also direct charterflights to several holiday resorts and to the Northern Finland.
Central location
Infrastructure in Finland is excellent. By car to Helsinki takes 1h 30 min on the new motorway. As Finland’s main railway network runs via Tampere, train connections to and from Tampere are ideal, shortest travelling time 1h 28 min with departures every hour between 6 am. and 10 pm.
Also other major business cities in Finland are within easy reach from Tampere. Smooth railway and road connections mean short travelling times; 1h 30 min to Jyväskylä and Pori, 1h 40 min to Turku and Lahti, 2h 30 min to Vaasa, 4h 20 min north to Oulu.

There are good selection of hotels in Tampere. When locating your businesses in Tampere Region there are various living possibilities from urban city centre to peacefull housing in close by country side. Still the travelling time to and from work is short, normally only 10 to 20 min.
